I'd wanted a penpal for ages and ages. I was hoping to get a "snail-mail" penpal but when I found this I decided that an Internet one would probably be more handy. I made lots of friends on here and I have one really special friend who lives in America. It was interesting to meet all of these new people who I would never have met without this site. I'd appreciate it if the site didn't close, but we always have email if it does.
KSC is taking a very long time to decide whether it is closing or not, and, to be honest, I'm not sure why they were going to close in the first place. They have not made their reason very clear. It would be nice to know soon if it's closing or not, because it has been strung out for a long time.

Over the years I have met many people on KSC. Some who only responded to my letters once, but others who I have had over 100 messages with. I am sad that this is going to be gone...I have already looked for another site like this but, they just aren't safe for kids. KSC is great with that it has much more safety to provide kids with than any other site that I have ever found. I met one of my best "friends" on this site when I was 12 or 13. I'm 17 now, and we still write to one another. It would be terribly depressing if other kids were not given the opportunity that I was when I used this site. This site is important to me because when my dad had cancer last year, I met a friend on ksc who helped me deal with my feelings about my dad and him being sick. I didn't have anybody to talk to at school because nobody understood. My friends at ksc helped me alot!

Please do not shut down KSC. As a teacher Who homeschool's Childen Parents have Allowed there kids to go on KSC and find a few PenPals from all around the Country. Sometimes they will get educated with the countrys. They pick on Country each week and they do some research by reading, talking to the penpal, using the computer and others. I have found that this is the easiest way to get the kids to learn about the countrys. I have found that i Personally like this website because they can pick who they would like to be PenPals with And i can Monitor What they are doing.

Wow. When I first read that KSC could possibly be closing, I couldn't believe my eyes! I joined KSC when I was nine, and have kept the same account and many of the same penpals. We've grown up together. We share when we're happy, we share when we're sad, and help each other out. This past year I was accepted into in an Honors Spanish class. It was hard work, but my Spanish speaking friends were incredibly helpful. This website is also soo much safer than many of the other penpal websites. Your system prevents too much unsafe information from being published. Overall, close if you must, but know that a hole will be left in the hearts of thousands of children from around the world.

Ok, imagine you are a 10 year old girl, nervous about school, her dog and Great Aunt just died. That was me when I first joined KSC. I started out joining and getting like 320 friends. One girl was like my EXACT TWIN! I also talked to people all over the world! Some of the places were, Germany, Japan, China, England, Ireland, U.S.A, Brazil, France, Italy, Greece, Wow there are to many to name! I learned many many languages, French, Latin, Spanish, Italian, Greek, and even some Mandarin Chinese! Not only was this educational IT WAS FUN! I joined clubs about everything from discussing polotics and religion to my celebrity crush Cole Sproue! I had a penpel who was affected by the Tsunami and we worked together and raised awarness and money. My penpal from Malaysia sent me postcards. My friend from India explained what Hindi people believe and I explained Christianity. Alot of my discussions with people varied from Ludacris' awesome song "Money Maker" to how some people were battling peer pressure. If this closes it could 100% ruin some people's lives! Without KSC I wouldn't have joined my school's geography bee, I wouldn't understand other peoples veiws on political issues, and honestly I might not have as much self confidence... Please don't close KSC if it is humanly possible. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and I'm sorry about the cut funding.

I really wanted to have an email friend from a different country, to learn about other places, and make new friends. When my mom learned about KSC, it was SO cool!!! I was so excited, and stated trying to make new friend right away! I have been checking my email almost every day, and I REALLY hope that KSC can continue! It would be AWFUL if it had to stop. Okay, because of my busy life, I kind of forgot about KSC. I forgot the password to my account, and even forgot my account name. I felt ashamed, since I'd made so many friends from so many different places, so I decided to come back and make another account, but then I discovered I couldn't because of what's going on. I am deeply upset, because I was looking forward to e-mailing new people from new places. I don't know of any other site like this, and once, while I still remembered my account and password, my Austrian pen-pal was able to give me some information I needed to complete a project about Austria. And if she needed to do a project about the U.S., I would've helped her just like she helped me. So not only can KSC help children make friends across the border, it can help them understand the variety of different cultures in the world.

I have only been on KSC for a few months not even a year I don't think but it is so cool. I mean I got to talk to these cool people and one girl and I even chat sometimes on email off KSC. I mean KSC is a great place to learn about different people and cultures and countrys.I mean me and my two cousins love KSC we love meeting new people. i have been using KSC since i was 6 and i have loved chatting to my friends, sometime soon i am hoping to visit a friend who i have met on KSC when i was 6 and have known them every since. It i really safe to use and it is different to other sites because it is used more world wide and have sooo many nice people wanting to make a friendship, and if you ever close this site down it would be a DUMB thing to do. I have thoroughly enjoyed ksc. I have many different countries in my backround and interests and I thought hey other kids would too. I looked around the internet and found this site called ksc hey I thought looks nice and all these interesting people have posted letteres. Since I have been on ksc I haved travelled to other european countries and have found interests in talking to european members and members from countries of my backround. I have also enjoyed talking to other members that share the same interests as me. KSC is a lovely site and I would be sad to see it go. It is a really good site to find people that share your interests and are nice to talk to.
