alerie ran home from school with tears streaming down her face. She ran into her bedroom and slammed the door hard. She climbed onto her bed and cried.

The next day, Valerie dreaded going to school but all the same, she had to go. When Valerie reached school, she heard the big bullly, Max shouting,"Here's comes Valerie the scardey-cat!" Valerie felt hot tears in her eyes. She went into the class and sat down by her self in a corner.

Her teacher, Miss Walker noticed that Valerie was unusually quiet. After school, Miss Walker asked Valerie what the matter was. Valerie told her about the big bully, Max. Miss Walker promised to see that Max never bullied Valerie again.

After that, Max never dared to bully any child again.
