"Being grateful."

Dear Diary,

Today has been horrific! Shane (my brother) had asthma all day but then all of a sudden it's gotten really bad.

We rushed him to the Austin Hospital and he was crying because he couldn't breathe and then he was put onto the pump.

Now I'm sitting here and we've been here for 3 hours! Shane has had 3 rounds of the pump and is really shaky from it all. The doctor also had to squirt medicine down his throat with a syringe. He wants to go to sleep but he can't because he hasn't finished with the pump.

I've been trying to ring my Dad on the mobile phone for the last hour and can't get in touch with him! I'm really scared for the life of Shane and he looks so sad curled up there on the hospital bed.

2 HOURS LATER

"Yes, I suppose you can go home now." the doctor is saying.

I finally got in touch with my Dad about half an hour ago and his car had broken down.

My Mum is carrying Shane to the car now and I am following, I am praying as I walk.

"Dear God, Thank-you so much for looking after my little brother. I am so grateful to you. Amen."
