ing! Carolyn's alarm clock rang.It was raining heavily outside. Carolyn turned off her alarm clock and went back to sleep.
"Carolyn!" mother called fifteen minutes later. "Hurry or you'll be late for school!"
Carolyn jumped up and checked her alarm clock. It was already eight o'clock! Carolyn changed into her school uniform and went down for breakfast without even brushing her teeth. After breakfast, she put on her sock and shoes and ran to catch the school bus. However, she saw that the school bus had already left. 'Oh well, I suppose I have to walk to school,' she thought.
Carolyn walked on the pavement near her house. Suddenly, a car came by and splashed water on her. She screamed. She was drenched.
When she finally reached her school, she was already an hour late. Her teacher scolded her for being late. Carolyn opened her bag to take out her textbook. When she opened her bag, she found that she had forgotten to bring her textbook. She was once again scolded by the teacher and was made to stand outside the class as a punishment.
'What an unlucky day," she thought to herself.
