"T
ake out your textbooks and turn to page 43. Read pages 43-48 and do questions 1, 2, and 3. Please READ the pages, I don't want any parents complaining about your grade because YOU didn't read the material. Any questions?" said Mr. Hastenstine.

"Oh, oh oh!" shouted Becky.

"Yes, Becky?" hesitated Mr. Hastenstine.

"Do we have to do number 4?" asked Becky.

Becky giggled and soon she got the whole class of 24 students laughing.

"Becky, what did I just say?" replied Mr. Hastestine.

More giggling.

"Do questions 1, 2, and 3?" asked Becky. "Yes. And ONLY 1, 2, and 3. If you don't stop being a wisenhiemer, Becky, I'll have your pre-sheet.

Imediatly the class and Becky became quiet.

"Now, anyone else?"

"Is this due tomorrow?" shouted out Courtney.

"What do you think?" replied Mr. Hastenstine.

Triple giggling.

"Uh....friday?" giggled Courtney.

"No, tomorrow, TUESDAY." answered Mr. Hastenstine.

"OK." Courtney simply said.

Laughter.

"I will give you 20 minutes to work. Begin." Mr. Hastestine said.

Becky giggled.

"Yes?" asked Mr. Hastenstine

"Nothing." laughed Becky.

"Becky, I have the talkers special, and I will add your name soon." Mr. Hastenstine answered.

"I'm not talking!" burst out Becky.

"I'll make it LAUGHERS special." replied Mr. Hastenstine.

Becky and the class settled down. Suddenly, Becky started laughing again.

"Becky, bring your chair, your book, and your paper to the front of the classroom." said Mr. Hastenstine.

"OK." laughed Becky.

The whole class was in an uproar by now, and Mr. Hastenstine was growing impationt.

"Take out any papers to correct and switch with the person you did last time before you changed seats."

Everyone got out their half corrected papers and switched. Mr. Hastenstine began correcting. Hands shot up for questions on answers. As usual Becky pointed out the no dotted i's, the non-crossed t's, and no periods. Finally, Mr. Hastenstine said,

"I don't have recess duty so we can do this inside for recess."

Everyone quieted down. Soon, Brittany started laughing and she was told to go to the front and Becky the back of the room so the class couldn't see Becky. Finally, after much diffuculty, the class ended and Mr. Hastenstine said with conclusion,

"Enjoy your recess!" and the children walked out of that hour and a half switch time back to their homeroom.
