ne day, Hampy was staring out his cage wishing that he could go on vacation. His owners were going tommorow and he was going to be stuck with the horrible pet-sitter named Mrs. Pushbutton.Water dripped out of his water-sipper as he thought about his horrible fate. Suddenly, the cage began to spin. Carefully hidden food was scattered all over the place. Hampy was thrown from one end of the cage to another and squeaked for help: but nobody understood him. He found himself along with the food falling down through a long tunnel and from there on everything was unrecognizable. When Hampy got to the end of the tunnel things seemed normal again. But they weren't because what Hampy saw next was amazing. There were hamsters everywhere and hamster delights such as carrots, lettuce, and egg-cartons to shred up for burrows. Best of all, everything was free for the public to use! First, Hampy decided he was going to have some food. He walked over to the buffet and grabbed all the foods he loved such as carrots, lettuce, apple, melon, sunflower seeds and more. As sat down at one of the tables enjoying his meal, Hampy discovered that he was getting rather chubby. He decided to check out the new, improved excercise equipment. When he got to the excercise room, Hampy tried out all kinds of things such as the spinning wheel, the clear plastic ball, and the hamster ladder. After doing all that excercising he was VERY tired and decided to take a nap in the bedding room. H ecurled up and went to sleep in the cozy bedding. The loud sobbing voices and his masters' eyes on him awakened Hampy. "Wait a minute," one little girl cried,"He's alive!" And the family rejoiced. Hampy then realized that Hamster Land had been a dream and that his family was so happy he was alive because they had by accident dropped Hampy's cage when moving him to the sitter's house. But he was still hurt, so the family decided to take him on vacation with them so they could care for him. He got to go! At last his dream had come true! Little did Hampy know what awaited him on the 10 1/2 hour car trip there....................................
