ne day Kristy was walking through the woods of Canada. As she wa swalking she thought she heard something behind her. Turning around quilckly, she discovered whatever was the was gone.

Deciding to turn back, a bird tangled in leafy vines landed at her feet. It was quite large, and didn't appear to be troubeled. When Kristy cut a vine with her pocket knife, a greenish liquid came spurting out and the bird shrieked in pain and flew away.

Since her parents were scientists, she got some of the liquid in a baggie, and headed toward her camp. She decided not to tell her parents, until she was ready.

That night, Kristy prepared her camera, and analyzed the liquid. It was blood. That ment that the bird in vines was made out of vines. a vine bird. No a plant bird!

The next day, Kristy went to the same spot. When she didn't find the bird, she wandered farther. She found a pond. Suddenly, the pond started to glow, out came, the grass bird! Kristy quickly snapped a picture and ran back to camp.

When she got there, her parents were packing to go home to south Carolina. When she devloped the pictures, the grass bird one was tacked up on her bullitin board with "Grass Bird" under it. For a month she thought about it, when her parents told her that they were going to an underwater hotel to study fish and dive.

'I wonder if there is a strange bird there too?' Kristy thought....................
