Hannah's "Samantha and Maxie's Secret"

Once there was a scarecrow named . She wasn't an ordinary scarecrow. She was magic. She would bite some and then the stick she was on would turn into legs and she would walk around. lived behind a tomato which grew in the corn fields. Her friend, Sally, lived near a big, huge .

One day the children were playing hide and go seek in the fields. When was sure they were in bed she niblled on some . And POOF!! legs grew. Sally played with .

Then ran into one of the children, Maxie. She was only four. "I'm lost" she weeped, "I want Mommy and Dada! Sob sob" So carried Maxie home. But then the magic wore off, and was stuck in front of the house.

The next day, heard Maxie talking to her 10-year-old sister. "Beatwice, I saw a scawcwow las' night. She hewped me get home." She said. "Yeah, right. And last night Prince Charles read me a story. Grow up!" Beatrice said. " Who's Pwince Towels?" Maxie asked, confused. " None of your bees' wax" Beatrice snapped, and walked away. Safe, thought .

Soon Sally came and took back and they never got caught again.
