Sarah's "The Best Hike Ever!"
In this story,
is "water",
is
"berries",
is "bug",
is "weather", and
is "hotdogs".
"Ring...ring...ring" The telephone at my house
rang. "Hello", I said in a sleepy voice. "Sarah, are
you ready to go on our big nature camp yet?" It was my grandpa!
I was supposed to be ready two hours ago! "Sorry grandpa.
I must of slept in." I should be ready in a few minutes."
I said. "No problem sweety. Just call me and let me know
when you're ready to go okay?" "Sure Gramps", I
said. "Oh, and Sarah.", he said. "yes Gramps",
I replied. "Don't forget to bring a lot of
and
I brought some
we can snack on." My grandpa was always
prepared for everything! I got of the phone and quickly got dressed.
I ran three blocks down the street to my grandpa's house. My grandpa
was waiting for me outside. We loaded our
bottles,
,
repellient, and other things into the truck and got in. About
four hours later, the
started not to look so good.
It seemed like it was starting to rain. "Don't let a little
rain stop you Sarah", my grandpa said. "I wont gramps.
!
It's just I really was looking forward to going...."
"camping", my gramps said inturupting me. "And
we still are going so don't you worry sweety.", My gramps
never worried about anything. He always thought so positively.
Which was probably a good thing. Leater on when we were almost
in the woods the
cleared up. The sun actually started to come
out. We finally got there and we stepped out of the truck only
to find some juicy looking purple
! Yumm I thought to
myself. As I walked over to them, My gramps told me not to eat
them because they could be poissoness. Of chourse, I listened
to him. It's much safer if he checks them first. My grandpa checked
them and said that they weren't poissoness. I tried a couple of
.
Boy, were they ever good!
Night time came and my grandpa and I were exausted, so
we fell asleep with no trouble at all.The next morning we had
our leftover
for breakfast and we drank some
. Then
we got ready for our big, long walk in the woods. "Sarah,
don't forget to grab a hiking stick.", my grandpa reminded
me. "I won't gramps", I said. I went into the bush and
found a perfect hiking stick.
On our hike, we saw so many neat things such as; deer,
chipmunks, strange birds, more
, and lots of sounds
were heard as well. The
was perfect during our hike.
It was the best.
The best hike EVER!
