Gina's "A Friend in Need"

In this story, is "playground", is "mirror",
is "pet snail", is "good luck charm", and is "cool hat".

The other day Kaileigh found this . She had to have it. She wasn't sure of the price, though. When she went to the counter, it turned out that she had just enough money to buy it with one penny left. She called this penny her . This was because every time she had it in her pocket, something great happened.

Once she was wishing very hard for a pet, and then, for no reason, her mom came into the room with Kaileigh's very own .

One day she was looking in the , and she said to herself,
"I love this . I'll never give it up."

She decided to go to the . She felt like a princess wearing her new! It made her feel special.

Just then a little girl with a disease called lukeimia caught Kaileigh's eye. She felt sad for the little girl, because the older kids had formed a circle around her and were making fun of her, because she had no hair. (Lukeimia does that, sometimes) Kaileigh got really angry. Those kids had no right to pick on that poor girl like that! She marched over and told them to stop. At first they didn't, but then, after Kaileigh wouldn't stop bugging them to leave, they did.

The little girl had been crying. Kaileigh tried to comfort her.
"Everyone's always picking on me!" the girl said.
She kept on crying. Kaileigh had to think of some way to make her feel better, and then it hit her. The ! Of course! If the girl wore the , she probably wouldn't be picked on. No one would know she was bald. She could just happen to have a really short haircut.

But it was Kaileigh's . And she had said,
'I'll never give it up' She thought.

Finally, she decided.
"Here, take this. If you wear it, no one will no about your hair."
She gave up the. The girl's eyes lit up.
"Oh thank you thank you! I'll never forget you for this!"

The girl gave Kaileigh a hug. - Kaileigh and the little girl became best friends.-

When Kaileigh got home and was getting ready for bed, she smoothed out her jeans on her bed. Something fell out of the pocket. It was her .
