Bridget's Story
"A DAY WITH A MONSTER"
by
Bridget

T
here once was a girl named Melisa. She was reaching under her bed when she felt a hard tug on her arm! She yelled and her mom ran to her room.
"What's wrong, honey?", said mom.
"Something is pulling my arm", said Melisa.
"You're just imagining things", said mom.
Mom walked back to her own room.

The next day when Melisa woke up, there was a big, green monster on her bed. The monster had a big nose and yellow feet. Melisa was too shocked to say or do anything.
"Hello, What is your name?", said the monster.
"Mmmm...y name is Melisa", she stuttered. "What's yours"?
"Gooley", answered the monster.

Gooley said he did not have to go to school in Gompca. Gompca is where he lived. Gooley was just visiting Melisa's bed.

Melisa went downstairs to call her friend Lisa and ask her to come over .Lisa said she could. When Lisa got to Melisa's house, they ran to Melisa's room.
"Who? Where? What is that?", said Lisa.
"This is Gooley. He is going to stay under my bed for a few days", said Melisa.
"Hi, my name is Gooley", said Gooley.
"My name is Lisa", said Lisa.
"Do you want to play Pomsay"?, said Gooley.
"How do yo play that?", both girls asked.
"Well, you throw a ball. Whoever catches the ball has to try to throw it at everyone. Whoever gets hit does the same thing", said Gooley.
"Let's play!", said the girls.

They all played Pomsay for one hour.
"What time is it?", asked Lisa.
"It is ten o'clock", said Melisa. "Let's play tag".

So they all played tag for a half an hour. It was ten thirty when they were done.

Later, the girls ate chicken soup for lunch. They snuck some bread upstairs for Gooley.

When they were done eating, Lisa's mom called. She called to tell Lisa she was going to come pick her up. Lisa said she would wait outside. Melisa waited outside, too. Gooley was feeling a little left out, but he knew if anyone saw him Melisa would get in trouble.

After ten minutes, Melisa came back. When Melisa sat on her bed she heard someone yell,
"Ahhhh!". Melisa looked under her bed and saw a big, purple monster.
"Hi, I'm Mrs. Gooley. Have you seen little Gooley?", asked Mrs. Gooley.
"Hi, mom. What are you doing here?", said Gooley.
"I came to pick you up", said Mrs. Gooley.
"But mom, I like it here!", said Gooley.
"Get packing. I missed you", said Mrs. Gooley.
"You can't go", said Melisa.
"I must go. Bye", said Gooley.

For the rest of Melisa's life, she never saw Gooley again.
