nce upon a time at Fairy Land, there was an elf named John. He was just 10 years old and very helpful. John's parents both died from illness. The Queen of Fairy Land let John live at the Palace.One day the elves, pixies, and fairies were very busy. They were preparing for Christmas. The little elf wanted to help, so he went to the kitchen where the elves were cooking. John asked the elves, "Can I help cook the food for Christmas? " The elves answered, "No, you're just a small elf and you can't cook food very well." So John went to the pixies and asked, "Can I help decorate the palace?" The pixies answered, "No, you're just a small elf and you can't decorate it very well. When you grow up, you can decorate in any place at the palace, whenever you want." The elf went to the Music Room because he wanted to join in practicing songs for Christmas. The fairies said, "No, you're just a little elf. You can't sing songs and you can't read notes very well. When you grow up you can join us for practice." The elf was very sad and went to the lake. When he was in the lake he said to himself, "I'm unworthy to be in the castle. They don't need me! They need grown-ups to help!" He blamed himself and wondered why he was just a small elf when he wanted to be a grown-up elf. Suddenly, he saw a fairy flying in the air going to the North Pole. John said, "I know that fairy! She's delivering the wand to Santa Claus at the North Pole to give the toys some finishing touches." Just then the wand fell to the ground. John grabbed the wand and tried calling the fairy to come back but the fairy did not hear the elf. John hurriedly went to the castle and told the Queen the whole story. The Queen said to John, "We are very honored to have you. Without you the wand will be in Chrizzela's hands." (Chrizzela is an evil witch and will do anything to stop people's happiness. Chrizzela wanted people, elves, fairies and pixies sad and angry with each other. She makes everyone's life miserable.) The Queen then said, "Because you found the wand, you will be the one to bring the wand back. You will go to Santa Claus and give it to him. Maybe, the fairies and elves are now very worried." She added, "You must go now!" Suddenly Chrizzela appeared in front of the Queen and said, "What a very beautiful wand! I must have that so children in the whole world will not have gifts under their Christmas trees." Chrizzela grabbed the wand but John got it back from Chrizzela's hands. Then Chrizzela said, "You will pay! I'm not finished with you yet!" The witch vanished into thin air. The Queen said, "Here take this pendant. It might save your life." And then she added, "This is Mario, a fairy elf. You will be with him and he will help you a lot. He knows where Toyland is and also knows some Secret Passages to the North Pole. Go, go now!" John and Mario rode on a very big bird to the North Pole. They flew for a long time. While they were talking to each other, someone shot the bird's wings. Mario said, "Oh no! What will we do now? We're going to crash!" Then John remembered what the Queen has said. "I know, the Queen said the pendant will help. But I don't know how to use it!" Mario said, "Close your eyes, and think very hard that we will not crash and hopefully we will really never crash." John thought very hard and then the bird's wings were already well. And they flew to the North Pole. At Chrizzela's Castle, Chrizzela was shouting at her servants. "Why you fools! You ruined a very great opportunity!" John and Mario went to the ground and stopped to eat and sleep. They had fun and they watched the sunset. After that, they slept because they we're really very tired. The next day, they woke up early. They ate their breakfast and then rode the bird again. When they reached the North Pole, the bird said, "According to the Queen, I will fly you only up to here. She said that it is up to you two to find where Toyland is. Wait here for Tubby, the polar bear. He will be here any minute to guide you. Goodbye!" John and Mario waved him goodbye. The two of them waited and waited. At last they saw Tubby. Tubby said, "Hiya fellows! I'm Tubby, the polar bear. Are you John and Mario?" They said, "Yes, we are John and Mario". "Come on now," the bear said, "Santa and the elves are waiting for the two of you." They went to Toyland. Before the elves opened the door, they first asked for the Secret Password. The bear said, "gift giving". Then the elves said, "Come on in!" They entered Toyland and were very amazed at the beautiful toys. But the toys didn't shine and needed some finishing touches. Santa Claus said, "Ho Ho Ho Ho! At last! You're here". The fairy waved the wand through the toys and the toys looked very exquisite and perfect. Mario noticed that Santa had a broken arm. Santa Claus said "I can't deliver the gifts now because Chrizzela did this to me." John said, "I know, I will deliver the gifts but come with me and show me which houses will I place the gifts in." Santa said, "That's a great idea. Come we must start right now." Santa Claus and John went to a sleigh where Santa always rode to give presents to children who have been good the past year. They went from house to house in the whole world and at last they were finished. They went back to Toyland. There, Mario was waiting for John. Santa Claus said, "You've been very good this year John. May I ask what gift you want?" John said, "I just want to help in the castle to prepare for Christmas". Santa wrote a letter to the Queen of Fairy Land to let John help. John and Mario went back to Fairy Land and now the Queen told the fairies, elves and pixies what little John did. Now the fairies, pixies and elves let John help them. And they celebrated Christmas very happily.
