"Susie and Jack Learn their Manners"
by

O
ne day way down in Australia there were 2 little koalas.  Their names were Susie and Jack.  That day in kindergarten they were learning their manners. It was circle time and their teacher, Miss Calahan, was telling them when to say please and thank-you.
"You should say please when you want something and thank-you or thanks when you recieve or get something.  Does anyone have any questions?" asked Miss Callahan.
"I do!  Could you give us an example?" asked Jack.
"Okay.  Jack, could you bring me that hat, please?" asked Miss Callahan pointing.  Jack went and got it, and gave it to Miss Callahan.
"Thank-you very much, Jack,"
"You're welcome" replied Jack.
"That's another manner.  When someone says thank-you to you, you say You're Welcome," said Miss Callahan.  "Oh it's almost time for the bus.  Everybody get ready."

Later at home Susie asked
"Mom could you make me a sandwhich please?  A eucalyptus leaf one would be nice."
"Me, too, please," added Jack.
"Thank-you" they said together.

From then on they always used their manners.
