"THE NEW FRIENDS"

O
nce upon a time there was a seven year old girl named Maria. Her best friend was Tammy Woodlock. Tammy and Maria made a vow that they would not ever move away from each other.

One day Maria's father came home as happy as could be. "Why are you so happy father?" asked Maria. You know how much I hate this town. My boss told me that he was promoting me to Orlando, FL. But Daddy, what about Tammy! screamed Maria. There are many other girls your age in Orlando. But it just want be the same without Tammy, we're best friends.

The next day, Maria went to school very sad. She would be the one to break the vow. When she saw Tammy, she got a knot in her throat.
Hi Tammy, she said.
Hi!
You know the vow we made together?
Yeah, what about it.
Well I think I'm going to be the one to break it. My father go promoted to Orlando.
On no, when are you moving.
Tomorrow.

The next day, Maria put her luggage in the moving truck and off they went. When they got there there was a big two-story white house. But that still didn't matter. Nothing could make Maria happy.

When she went to school the next day, none of the kids like her. She was very sad.

At home on the porch, there were some flowers and a note from Maria's Mom that said please plant these flowers. She began to plant them when she heard the grass move next to her. It was a dragon. The dragon asked
why don't you go ask one of those girls for lunch tomorrow.
But she said they don't like me.
Well that doesn't matter, they may like you after they know you because they don't know how nice of a person you are.
By the way, how can you talk?
It's all in your mind. Now just go on and ask one for lunch.
Okay, I'll think about it.

The next day she looked up the phone number of one of the girls in her class. She called her and asked her over for lunch. The girl answered, oh I'd love to you. I'm sorry that I laughed at you but I would love to come over for lunch. What time shall I come?

The girl came over for lunch and she loved it. The next day she told all of the other girls in her class how nice Maria was and she made friends with everyone.

The End
