t was summer and Tosha wondered what new place her family would visit this year." I hope we go to DisneyWorld in Florida,"thought Tosha. That night Tosha overheard her parents talking. "Why don't we go somewhere away from the U.S.A.," she heard her dad say. "I've always wanted to go to China or Japan," her mother replied. A week later Tosha had her bags all packed and was in a plane flying to her far away destination. When Tosha finally reached her destination it was night time she was tired and hungry. Suddenly Tosha smelled the familiar smell of food. Her stomach growled. She followed her parents towards the smell. Tosha walked in a resturant filled with the smell of familiar and unfamiliar food. Tosha got a hamburger but, her parents got a meal unlike any she had ever seen. They sat down to eat. Tosha wondered what the sticks her parents were using to eat were called. They are chopsticks explained her parents. Tosha tried to use the chopsticks but no matter how hard she tried she could not master them. Tosha stayed with her parents in a big hotel. While Tosha was there she met an oriental girl with who she became friends. Because they could not understand each other they used their hands to communicate. Before leaving for the U.S.A. Tosha visited her friend one last time. Tosha gave her friend a friendship bracelet that she had made. Tosha's friend gave Tosha a pair of beautifully carved chopsticks. Tosha gave her friend a big hug before waving good-bye for the last time. "Can we come here next year?",Tosha asked her parents as she walked to her seat on the airplane. "Maybe," answered her parents. Tosha wondered what that meant as the plane took off. She wondered if her friend missed her as much as she missed her friend.
