月曜日の朝あきてみるとすごくだるかった。鏡をのぞいてみたら・・・ あああ、ぼくの目は悪魔みたいに真っ赤だ。 なにがおこったんだ！ぼくはすぐお母さんのところにいってこういった。 "ママ、お医者にいかなくちゃ！" お医者さんは目が腫れているといい、3日間安静にしているようにいった。いやだ！友だちと話もできない！ ゆううつな気持ちで家にかえって、赤目にぴりぴりする薬をさした。そりゃあもうたまらないひどさ！ してはいけないことばっかり：テレビだめ、コンピュータだめ、コンタクトレンズだめ、ほかのことだってだめばっかり！ うんざりだ！横になってぴりぴり目薬をさしラジオを聞く以外にはすることがない。 （ところでぼくはママのすきなラジオ局、98.8 FMを聞いていた）なのに、広東なまりのディスクジョッキーのいうことときたらぼくにはさっぱりわからない。 （ぼくは福建なまり） おぞましい日々をすごしながらぼくは神に祈った。病気がよくなりますように。 火曜日、まだ直らない！まだ2日間も安静にしていなくちゃいけない！ なんてことだ。たまらない！ 日曜日に鏡をみてみると、信じられない、目が赤くない。 よかった！これで安心。やった〜！ 月曜日に学校にいくと、みんぼくの休みを心配してくれていた。 手術をうけたらしいといううわさまであったようだ！なんてうわさをたてるんだ！ でもとにかく、学校に行けるようになってうれしい。 二度と目がはれませんように！
woke in the morning on Monday, feeling very tired. I look into the mirror and......AHHHH! My eyes were as red as the devil's! Goodness me! I went up to my mother immediately and told her, "Mama, I have to go to the doctor! He said that I had sore eyes! Unfortunately, I got a MC which lasted 3 miserable days! I was terried! No chit-chat with friends! I went home, feeling very sick! I put on the irritating medication on to my ever red eyes! It was a terrible feeling! There was so many "NOs", to TV, to computer, to contact lenses and many many more! How sickening! All I did was lied down, put on the irritating medication and listen to the radio(I've to listen to my mother's favourite radio station, 98.8 FM)whereby those Cantonese radio speakers just say things I don't understand(my dialect is Hokkien)! As the days of horror past, I pray to God, hoping that my sickness will get cured! On Thursday, I was still not cured! I got another MC for 2 days! What luck! I was so fed-up! On Sunday, I looked into the mirror and .....I can't believe it! It was red anymore!I was so glad! All my worries were gone! Yippee! I went to school on Monday and everyone were wondering about my absence to school! I even heard rumours of me getting an operation! What a rumour! but anyway, I was so happy I could go to school! I hope I would never get sore eyes again!
