"The Magic Dresses"
by
Ellie Gagnon

Once there was a Fairy. She went to sleep and when she woke up she could only could find the pink dress she didn't want to wear. She wanted to wear the green, shiny one. But it wasn't there. But then she saw a piece of the green shiny one on a little man.

And he said "If you give me that pink dress, I'll give you back all those other dresses. I'll give you back the red one, the green one, the purple one, the brown one, the black one, the yellow one, the violet one. I'll give you back every other color dress."

He meant to say "If you let me keep this little piece of the green shiney dress."

The fairy said "I don't know what you mean." And he said "But I don't know what you mean."

And he also said then "I will take you on a magic carpet ride if you give me this little piece of the green shiny dress."

And she said "Well, you can keep the little piece of the green shiny dress. I just want the green dress back and all the other dresses."

So the little man gave her back all of the the dresses.

And then he said "Now I can give you a magic carpet ride."

But the Fairy said "I just want to go back to bed now."

The little man grew into a very big man, as big as the Fairy. He had wings like her and she was wearing the green shiny dress. And he was still wearing the piece of the green dress. He put her on the carpet and they flew off and they went off into a magic world. And they picked daisies, for it was winter where the Fairy came from.
