Bridgman is a rural community set in an area abundant with fruits such as apples, strawberries, peaches, tart cherries, sweet cherries, grapes, pears, and plums.

This is our first full year on the Internet so we are excited about writing stories that lots of people around the world can read! We hope to hear from you!

The 24 second graders in Portable I are experts in both the areas of reading and writing. Through the use of poetry, they learn how to become readers of REALLY hard words such as "demeanor," "noble," "filmy," and "serenades." Their favorite poet is Jack Prelutsky. They have Writing Workshop at least four times each week and loudly complain if this period of time is interrupted for any reason! They have become writers of poetry as well as of fiction and non-fiction. They have just finished researching and writing about penguins.

Wakefield is located in extreme northeastern Nebraska not far from the Iowa and South Dakota borders. We live in a farming area where corn and soybeans are raised. Our school is a K-12 school with approximately 220 kids in the elementary alone. We are the only multi-age class in the school and love doing research projects using the library, computer and internet. Our favorite topics of study each year are birds (we have feeders outside our window) and quilts in history and geometry. We actually make a quilt each year!

The children in Mrs. Collins' first grade class at Corrales Elementary School all live in the community of Corrales. Corrales is a small community located on the very out-skirts of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is a rural area with a very country type feeling. Right next to the soccer field on our playground is a large field where you can see several horses. We have a marvelous view of the Sandia mountains from our playground.
Mrs. Collins has 20 children in her class. They are very excited about writing, reading and math. Their interests include sports, pets, music, computers, and art. Their favorite subject in class is writing! They are very excited about the new technology we are involved with at our school and are looking forward to hearing from people who read their stories.

Mrs. Ferry's second grade class at Delaware Township School lives in the rural area surrounding the village of Sergeantsville, NJ. It is gently rolling farmland in the Delaware River Valley, about 1 hour north of Philadelphia.
The class has seventeen 7 and 8 year olds that enjoy playing sports, having pets, and playing with their friends. In school they have been studying dinosaurs, Indians, counting money, and other interesting things.
They are writing to pen-pals in school and would love to hear from you!
by フェルセス先生の一年生クラス at Corrales 小学校
Corrales, New Mexico
責任者: Lorraine Fjelseth
The first graders at Corrales Elementary School are authors, illustrators, playwrights, and actors. The class is exploring creative dramatics, art, and the writing process. The children perform original plays for students and families. The performance includes demonstrations of exercises that are necessary to insure focus, vitality, and confidence during live theater.
In addition to children sharing their work on stage, written pieces are typed for families and children to read. Kids' Space provides publication to a wider audience and enables children to see the WWW as a valuable form of communication.
The staff at Corrales Elementary School explore authentic learning through life experiences. Writers, actors, and artists need audiences to share their creations. Feedback is essential to the give and take of the artistic process. Creative voices and artifacts are meant to be shared with an audience. We hope you enjoy our work and would love to have you write to us.

We provide mainstreaming and reverse mainstreaming. Parental support and education are powerful adjuncts to developing effective treatment programs for the individual child.
