"Sunrise"

O ne day the Sun woke up. The Moon was in the sky, just like every day. It was almost time for the Sun to rise, but for some reason today he couldn't rise.

He noticed that the reason that he couldn't rise was because of the Moon. "I don't want to leave yet," she said. "I want to stay up here for a little while longer. Then you can rise."

She surely wasn't going to come down anytime soon, so the Sun decided to wait.

The Moon probably realized that the Sun had to come up soon, because day was going to start.
She sighed. "Well, I guess I'll just have to wait. You can come up." But this time, when the Sun tried to rise, the Wind came and stopped him!

"Oh, sorry Mr. Sun," the Wind said. "My winds are probably too strong for you to rise, but I have to finish my morning jog... So can you wait?" So the Sun had to wait some more.

When the Wind finished his morning jog and left to go somewhere else, the Sun took a peek outside to see if anyone else were on any jogs or anything. There was no one there, so he started to rise...

... But when he did, he couldn't see anything in front of him except for white, white, white. It took him a while, but he soon figured out that there was a Cloud in front of him. He guessed that the Wind blew them his way while he was on his daily jog. Clouds were his worst enemy, because they were so wet and they blocked his view.

Even through he didn't like Clouds, he still had to be nice to them because they would never do anything that another person wants unless they were polite. This used to be because they had to teach little ones to be nice and use their manners, but soon they got used to it and started expecting everyone to be nice.

"Hey, Cloud, can you please move somewhere else?" asked the Sun.

Cloud looked at the Sun. "Why?"

"Because I need to rise, and I can't rise with you in front of me."

Cloud looked left, then right, and then sighed. "I would love to move away, but the Wind is the only one that can move me away with his winds, and he's gone now to blow somewhere else."
The Sun pouted a bit. "Can you call him?"
"Maybe I could," replied Cloud.
The Sun sighed. This was another reason that he didn't like Clouds much. "Would you call him please?"
Cloud smiled. "Yes, I will," she said, and called the Wind over. The Wind rushed over a bit too quickly, though, and blew Cloud away.

Finally! Thought the Sun. He looked at the Sky and started rising. It's a little bit later than usual, but now I can finally rise.

And so he did, except this time he rose as high as he could and as brightly as he could shine to make up for his lateness.

That night, he made sure that he would rise extra early the next day.
