"Jeremy's Surprise"
by

J eremy thought that the earth rotated around him. He was greddy, unsensitive, and he was a bully. Or so I thought, and everyone else, too. But one day he proved us all wrong.

It all started when I decided to volunteer at the soup kitchen. I thought that I would be the only one my age there, since my friends were all busy. That's why I was surprised when they told me another guy my age was volunteering at the same time as me.

When I arrived I walked in the back door and immediately saw the other guy. I couldn't beleive it. It was Jeremy!

"Jeremy?" I gasped, trying not to faint. Jeremy, volunteering? It was unheard of! "Oh, hey Chris," Jeremy said calmly, handing out the soup to someone. "What are you doing here?" I asked, still shocked. Jeremy stood up and faced me. "I come here every Saturday," he said, waiting for my reply. "But I thought that you were-" I gulped, and cut off. Jeremy stiffened. "You shouldn't beleive everything you hear, Chris," he said, and went back to work. "I'm sorry, Jeremy," I said, and got to work.

After that, Jeremy softened up and we talked and found out that we have alot in common. I realized that you shouldn't beleive what everyone says, and Jeremy is proof of that.
