 t was a bright summer morning and Sammy the seed was very upset. Sammy just couldn稚 grow. Now, Sammy was the kind of seed who expected things to come to him easy. He was the smartest seed in school and always got everything right. But his parents Sedrick and Sadie had told him that there would be sometime in life where he would have to work at something if he planned to be good at it. That time came sooner than he thought. Since Sedrick and Sadie were his parents, they had already developed into splendid flowers. Sammy was still a little brown ugly seed. Both of his best friends were much older and were already flowers. Even his siblings were older, so of course they were flowers too. Sammy wanted to become a bright, pretty flower like everyone else and get noticed. So, Sammy asked his mom and dad for advice. Sadie and Sedrick gave Sammy three steps to becoming a beautiful flower. Number one; you have to except the sunlight and take in the water. Number two; you have to want to become a flower. And number three; you have to have faith in yourself. But what Sammy didn稚 know is that he only had to follow one step. That step was step number three. Although you do need sunlight and water, to become a flower, it comes automatically. So Sammy followed all of the steps but he didn稚 grow at all. Sammy tried again and nothing happened. By this time Sammy was getting a little discouraged. Sammy kept on trying but he didn稚 have faith in himself. Then, one day Sammy decided to take a break for a day or two and just calm down for a while. The next morning Sammy woke up and wanted to try again. And that痴 just what he did. This time Sammy had faith, and to his great surprise, he GREW! Sammy痴 heart was flooded with joy. He couldn稚 wait to show all of his friends and siblings his new look. For the last month Sammy did the same thing everyday and by the time the time the month was over, Sammy was a splendid beautiful little flower. |
