Luna and Leo stepped into the hall, and Grandma stepped out behind them.
"Good morning children!" Grandma greeted us and they smiled wide as their own "good morning". Grandma gave a sneaky smile and slipped around them to the den.
"What's today, Luna?" Leo asked his older sister, who took a second to think then replied
"Some November Saturday." Leo nodded thouhgtfully. However he then cried
"Not to me! Today I'm going to break all the rules!" Leo's sister sighed at her brother. Then she said
"But you do that everyday, Leo."
"I know, but today's extra special, because it's a SATURDAY." Luna didn't see what difference it made, so she just grabbed her brother square by the shoulders and pushed him to the dining room. Before she could see they weren't there, Luna called out
"Mom, Dad, your son is a wacko." to her parents. But then she opened her eyes and saw no one was there. Instead, on the table, was a peice of paper. Luna, curious to know what it was, snatched it up.
"Oh my goodness!" she cried. It was called "".
"Instructions to what kind of toys!?" Leo shouted, sneaking a peek at the paper.
"You nosy bee!" cried Luna, reading the instructions.
"Oh these are simple!" Luna cried. Without thinking she ran off. Leo was close behind her. Luna led her and her brother all the way to the den, where Grandma hid behind the entertainment center. She watched them with happy eyes. Except the kids couldn't find the toys, which were in . It sat on the ground a few feet away from her. As the kids checked behind the couch, Grandma ducked down and kicked the brightly colored box out into the open.
"Look Luna!" Leo screamed suddenly, pointing at the box. They both ran to look inside. Luna was a bit taller and heavier than Leo, so he got their first. He opened and peered inside the box. Then, he snapped it shut and sat on top.
"I'm taking these all for myself!" he announced with an evil cackle, then a wicked grin. Luna frowned but didn't doubt herself. She stepped up to Leo and didn't hesitate when she reached down, plucked him off the top, and shoved him onto the couch. Then Luna peeled the top off slowly and looked just slightly over the brim of the box.
"OH MY GOODNESS!" exclaimed Luna, as she reached inside and pulled out all of what was inside.
"Look at these!" Luna said, admiring her toys.
"Those are just ! Where's my toys?" Leo wondered out loud. He stood up and went to the box and looked inside. Only two things were left: a pinecone and...
"I get a bandana?" And so it was a bandana, the .
"But this isn't fair!" whined Leo, falling to the floor. He started to cry. Luna felt bad. She set down her toys and walked slowly over to Leo.
"Oh, Leo, please don't cry..." Luna started. She looked at her toys. She had a doll, a dress, and a tennis racket. Luna had a tennis ball upstairs that she constantly lent out, so why not just give it to Leo?
"Leo, you want my tennis ball and new tennis racket?" Asked Luna. Still behind the entertainment center Grandma felt a smile fly across her face.
"Yes." whimpered Leo, who quick got up and wrapped his arms around Luna. They hugged for awhile, then Leo took the racket in his hand.
"Luna, do you want to... well, maybe, share?" Luna smiled wide and hopped around happily.
"Yes!" sighed Luna after awhile. Finally Grandma came out and hugged both the kids.
"I love you both so much!" she cried. And it was true. Everybody felt loved.
