"My trip to Oudtshoorn"

M
ne July holidays my family decided we were going to Oudtshoorn. My sister and I were very excited. We couldn't wait until we were there. We drove for a few hours and we stopped at a few libraries to see how they looked. The camera was full of pictures that day! We drove on again and finally we arrived at Oudtshoorn. We got to stay at a chale and everything was perfect. It was bedtime then and we all went to bed, wishing that the next day would come. The next day, we unpacked and had breakfast, got dressed, and then we went out to see the wonders of Oudtshoorn. We went to the crocodile farm and we saw a gigantic crocodile there. It was lying very still and I was staring at it when it moved very suddenly and I nearly jumped out of my skin! We then went to see the ostriches. My mom and sister simply wouldn't ride an ostrich but my dad and I were brave enough to try. I went first. It's not that scary. The ostrich is in between four wooden poles when you get on. Then the men there take off one of the poles and the ostrich would start running. The men ran with the ostrich so when I fell off the men would catch me. Then my dad went on. Since my dad was big, the men would not run to catch him and the ground is covered in ostrich poop so my dad had to take care of where he fell. This time the men made the ostrich mad. They put a bag over the ostrichs' head and shook it so that the ostrich would run faster than usual. My dad was on there for at least two minutes and that is a long time to ride on a mad ostrich's back! The keeper by the ostriches showed us a baby ostrich. We also went to feed the goats. We gave them lots of carrots. One of the goats was very greedy and took a carrot right out of my hand!
