Because he roared like thunder. Also in the jungle was Mr. monkey. His name was mongo because he loved mongos. One day mongo monkey bumped into thunder lion.
They challenge each other to go into the jungle cave.Mongo monkey and thunder lion agreed and they went off into the jungle cave.

Mongo monkey accidently went into passageway in the cave and got lost.Mongo Monkey yelled as hard as he could for help.Thunder lion heard him,but he said ,Why should I help him? I am challenging him.Thunder lion could not help him self .He went to go look for him.He said to him self why donít I just roar ? may be he will hear me.so thunder loin roared as loud as thunder and Mongo monkey heard and came over.They were both sad that they did not win the challenge ,but they were friends. They Both went to have a picnic with each other.
