long time ago there was a town called Pompeii and next to this town was a volcano called Visuvius. No one knew it was a volcano. Everyone was having fun but no one knew something terrible was going to happen until Vesuvius exploded. Everyone ran away and some were able to find pillows to cover their heads.

Everyone was pushing and shoving and screaming while Visuvius was exploding. A big cloud of smoke covered sun making it dark. Some of the people were able to get on boats and escaped.

Then when the eruption was over the survivors went back to their village. They saw all their houses were destroyed. Some people were even buried under the ashes. Later archeologists found Pompeii. They found fossils and statues of the people of Pompeii.
