he French King wanted an Italian explorer to find a way around the land. Around 1524 Verrazano was employed by the French King to find a strait leading to the Indies. Verrazano went from what is now North Carolina to what is now New York. About 1527 he went back to the ìNew World ìon this trip the Wampanoagos Tribe killed and ate him! In New York City, the Verrazano Narrows Bridge was named after him. Verrazanoís real name was Giovanni Da Verrazano. All though Verrazanoís original dates were never actually found, many historians have tried to make them accurate. Verrazano was born in 1485 and raised in Italy. |
