yle was getting tired of his dog Skip. Skip was becoming boring, and he hardly wanted to play ball any more. Kyle was always away at school and his parents had to feed, wash, and walk the dog every day.

One Sunday morning, Kyle told his parents that HE would walk Skip. But when he stepped outside, he ran to the park and placed his dog in the sand box. Kyle made a sign that said, "Dog for sale, only 25 cents" and taped it to the side of the sand box.

"Any minute now, kids will be lining up to buy you." Kyle said."rouuuuoooo" Skip groaned. He knew what was going on. "Shhhhh!!!"

Soon enough a small boy, about 5 or 6 walked up to the park. He had no parent with him. "I wannnn to buuuuy puppy!" He said.

"Do you have a quarter?" Kyle asked.
"25 cents?" The boy asked.
"Yes."
"Nooooooooooooo!" The boy said.

He started to cry realizing that he only had a dime.

"I'll tell you what. You give me that dime. And I will still give you the dog. O.K?" Kyle said.

The boy clapped and did a little dance. He threw the dime in the sandbox and took the dog on the leash. He then happily walked away with Skip barking and looking back slowly.

When Kyle got home he made himself a sandwich and walked into the family room. "Kyle. Where's the dog?" His mother asked when she saw him.

"The dog?" Kyle said with his mouth full. "Uh. Um. He's outside."

"Why? You should let him in."

"He's, ah, doing his buisness."

"I'll go get him." His mother said.

"No!!" Kyle yelled.

When his mother didn't see a dog out there she was extreamly mad. Kyle had to tell her what happened. It was hard for him to say it. And he even started to cry.

"Go get him back! Tell the boy's parents that you are very sorry, but you made a mistake and your parents want their dog back!!!!" His mother was turning red and she pointed to the door. "GO!!!" She yelled.

Kyle knocked on the boy's door and his parents game out. "Hello." They said. Kyle galped.
"Um. I gave a dog to your son, and I made a mistake. IIIII'mm soorrry. My parents want the dog back and, um, I'm sorry." Kyle was scared to death. He didn't know what he should say.

"Well, we appriciate you coming and all, but we gave the dog to the boy's uncle. It was a birthday gift. Um, he lives in Oklahoma." The boy's parents were very sorry. Kyle's mouth dropped open. He almost begain to cry again.

When he told his parents the news, they were really mad. Kyle was able to get the uncle's phone number, and they called him up. They explained everything and asked politly for the dog back. Suprizingly, the uncle said he would be glad to give the dog back. Kyle was so happy.

In about a week, Skip came home and Kyle hugged him. "I will always take care of you." He said. "Always!"
