nce there was a boy named Alex. Alex could run really fast but couldn't jump. His mother didn't know he couldn't. So she put him in a jumping race on his birthday. All of Alex's friends were going to be there, so he had to learn how to jump before the race.He tried and tried, but didn't get any better.

On the day of the race Alex still couldn't jump. He was really worried about what his mother would think of him when he wasn't able to jump very well in the race. When the race started he really wanted to be able to jump so his mom would be proud of him. when the race started he really concentrated, ran faster than he had ever ran before and jumped higher than he had ever jumped before .And he won!!!

He was really amazed that he won, and even happier that he didn't have to tell his mom, but in the end he told his mom he had never jumped like that before. His mom was okay with it.
