nce upon a time there was a gracious, pleasant family. There was the mom, Angie, the dad, Todd, the brother, Alex, and the sister, Ali. It was a Sunday afternoon on Sept. 23,2003 in Nashville, Tennessee. It was right after church when the parents decided they would go to the stores. They rode to the stores and decided to go to the toy store first for the kids. The kids decided they wanted a toy they saw, so they thought if they wined enough their parents would buy them the toy they wanted. They were wrong. The kids were surprised when their parents said no. They were so astonished they didnít talk until their dad asked them if they wanted a pretzel. They didnít even answer. The dad asked them what was wrong, and the kids said that they had wined for the toy they wanted, but they didnít get it. The dad said there were two lessons learned here. First he said, ì you donít always get what you want,î and secondî you donít wine for things, you ask for them.î The kids stopped and realized that their father was right and had a point. They all went back to the toy store and Ali and Alex spotted a toy they both really wanted. This time they asked for the toy they both really wanted. On the drive home Ali and Alex made a promise. They statedî We will never, ever wine for what we want because it will get us no where.î From then on they never wined again. |
