"The Two Travelling Monkeys"

nce upon a time, there lives a pair of husband and wife.The wife is pregnant. The wife asks her husband to find her a delicious young deer to eat. He sets of to find a deer and finds one.

It is a mother deer who is pregnant. The husband gets the child and finds that the child is alive. The husband then receives a message that his wife is dead from giving birth. They then were transformed into a pair of monkeys. They were to make up of the husband's sin so they lived in the temple and prayed everyday.

They went from temple to temple and doesn't eat any food except the holy food in the temple. They were given a task to walk from the western temple to the eastern temple. It is about 80 kilo metres long. They went on their journey and made a few stops on the way. They went through people's houses, ricefields, and slept on tree branches.

One day, a bird hunter shot the female monkey. The male monkey wanted to die along too. But unfortunately he saw a light telling him to keep walking to the east and reach the temple. He made it to the temple after a day his wife died. He believed that if he pray a long way to the mighty one, he will soon become human again. So he kept on praying and praying in the temple. The temple now has become his home.
