"Angel On One Side...Devil on the Other"

I
was in trouble...sort of. My BFF, Sophia, was in trouble. And it wasn't even her fault. It was Lisa's. You know how laughing is contagious right? Well, Greg messes up in his poem recitation and says something about the sun laughing at the computer and boom...Leslie cracks up, Sophia snickers, and I bite my lip to keep from laughing.

Well, Sophia and Lisa get one hour of detention, and at our little Catholic School detention is a big deal. I know, a pretty stupid reason for detention, but our school is as strict as my old fashioned grandmother. I mean, Greg laughed too and said, "He-He! Woops! Can I start over?"

Anyway, Lisa and Sophia and I used to be three best friends. But, Lisa started getting this, "I don't care!" attitude. And it got me in trouble. In English, especially. She was always coming up to me in English and talking about this and that. But, I found myself clinging on to Lisa, because I liked her. Every once in a while we would have a good laugh. But, Sophia! . ! She was the one who I could tell everything. And, to see Lisa hurt Sophia like that, was too much.

Sophia was crying in the bathroom about detention, and I hugged her while she cried. And I knew if anything ever happened to me, she would do the same.

For awhile, I was in the middle. It was Sophia, the angel, on one side, and Lisa, the devil, on the other. But then, when I held her in my arms, I knew that there was no contest. Sophia was the one I could turn to about anything. And one day, I knew that Sophia and i would just walk off, and Lisa would hold a grudge against us for a week, and then go her own way. And then, I would lean on Sophia and cry, just like she did for me. But until that day came. I"LL be Sophia's comfort.

This might be hard for you to understand, and you probably think I'm strange for writing such weird things where the whole world can see it. But, I want the whole world to know that when you have an angel and a devil sitting on your shoulder, choose the angel, cuz she'll take you all the way.

The End
