"The Mysterious Disease"

O
nce there was a boy named Fred. One day he went to the supermarket with his mom. He noticed that all of the vegetables had white marks on the back. He supposed it was because the water on them had frozen. No one else seemed to notice it. At home he tried to rub the white stuff off it, but it didn't come off. He told his mom about it but she said it was normal, so he stopped worrying about it.

During dinner he noticed that the vegetables tasted different, but his mom said it tasted normal and to stop worrying. Late that night, he awoke to hear the television on. "All over the country the vegetables are now growing white spots on them", the reporter announced. Fred thought there was some kind of disease on the plants, so he took a bit of it and brought it to the police to investigate. They told him it was nothing, but finally agreed would do it. The same reports were on the TV every day. Every day it spread more and more. Finally, the police told him there was a disease, and promised to tell farmers what to do.

After a while, all the plants were back to normal, but people were getting sick. Fred told the police to examine the bodies. They had the same kind of disease as the plants did. So the police fixed them but more people were getting sick and there were more bugs than usual.

Days later, the police found out what was going on. The bugs had carried the diseases and infected the plants and people. They put bug repallants all around them so no one else got sick.
