Todd was only six and didn't know how to spell very well, but he didnt care-and he knew santa didn't either.

Finally his dad told him to go to bed, so he asked if he could please sleep on the couch. His dad said yes, and Todd lit the candles in the for a night light. Soon he was fast asleep, dreaming of happy things he would get for christmas.

Then he heard something-what was it? He opened one eye, then the other. It was santa setting a big basket ball under the tree!

"Santa?" Todd rubbed his eyes. The jolly man turned around.

"Why Todd! You should be asleep!"

"Santa, are you real?"

"Why yes! Why?"

"Mark and Rick said you werent."

"Some people don't believe in me, because they don't see me."

"But they're not supposed to see you!" Todd cried.

"That's right-and that includes you. Now go to sleep, I need to go to your friend Billy's house next." Todd nodded, but before he went to sleep he asked one more thing.

"Santa, do you like cake or cookies better?"

"Cake, everybody sets out cookies, so cake is a special treat for me."

"I'll set out cake every year if you want." Santa nodded, grabbed his bag and shot up the chimney.

The next morning Todd woke up to find the gone, the glittering with joy, and the he asked for underneath it! He blew out the and rushed to tell Mark, Rick, mom, and dad up.

Soon they were ripping open the gifts, and Todd found snow on the ground! He built a , and had a wonderful christmas.

But nobody would believe him when he said he met santa! Todd let it go, the jolly old man was right, people didn't believe because they didn't see.
