It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and a typical day at the Mason's house. Jenny Mason was sitting at her " Will you cut that out, Lisa?", an exasperated Jenny stood at the doorway of Lisa's room, hands on hips. " Get out, Jenny!", Lisa shouted as she stopped the " So am I!", Jenny yelled back, " I have to write this story before Tuesday and I can't concentrate with you sounding like you are in pain!". Lisa stood firm, her face red with anger and embarresmend as she glared at her younger sister, who was glaring back. " Aw, cut it out, you guys!", Max came in, bouncing a " You stay out of this!", both girls shouted at him. He shrank. " Okay, okay!", Max backed out of Lisa's room, " But you are making me lose my concentration." " Like we care!", both girls screamed at him. Max was gone in a flash. " Your lousy " Your writing are no better than a baby's!", sneered Lisa. " What?", Jenny sputtered, " Why, how dare you, Alisa Margaret Mason!" " That is so lame.", Lisa threw a pillow at Jenny, who staggered backwards and into the hall. Lisa slammed the door quickly and locked it. " Lisa!", Lisa heard Jenny scream furiously, " I'm telling!". Lisa heard the sound of someone running. A few minutes later, 3 pairs of footsteps joined the first one. They came nearer and nearer until suddenly, there was silence. " Lisa, open the door!", Mr. Mason thundered, pounding on the door. Lisa got up and opened the door shakily. Jenny, Max, Mrs. Mason, and Mr. Mason all tumbled in. It seemed as they were just about to use a body slam. " Lisa, that was very rude and unpolite about what you said to your sister.", Mrs. Mason said sternly. " But, Mom, Jenny said I sounded like somebody in pain!", Lisa replied angrily. " Jennifer, did you?", Mr. Mason turned to Jenny and glared at her. Jenny suddenly turned pale. " Yes, Daddy, because Lisa was bothering me.", whimpered Jenny softly. " I hope both of you learned a lesson, and you too, Max!", Mr. Mason left Lisa's room, followed by Mrs. Mason, Jenny, adn Max. A few minutes later, Max appeared at Mr. Mason's study. " Dad, Lisa blew up my ball with a needle!", Max looked very upset. Mr. Mason studied the " Lisa, why did you blow up your brother's ball?", Mr. Mason frowned at her. " Dad, that little twerp called me The Wailing Screamer when I started singing.", Lisa pouted. Jenny stiffled a giggle as she glanced at Max. " That's it!", Mr. Mason bellowed, " NO MORE PRACTICING ANYTHING! GO TO YOUR ROOMS IMMEDIATLY AND STAY THERE. NO PRACTICING, UNDERSTAND?" " Yes, Daddy.", all three siblings whispered. On Monday afternoon, an excited Max hugged both sisters as he ran in from soccer tryouts. " I GOT IN!", Max laughed, " Yes! Hooray! Yea! Go, Me!". Jenny and Lisa danced with him for a while, for they were so happy for their brother. On Tuesday afternoon, a happy and thrilled Jenny ran in. " Lisa! Max! I won the contest!", Jenny shouted, " Hooray!". On Thursday afternoon, a very happy Lisa filed in from band practice. " I'm the lead singer now!", Lisa yelled, " I rule! No, we Masons rule!". From that day on, the three siblings shared a special bond, knowing that true wishes could come true, if you try hard. |
