Amy's "I Got the World For a Gift!"

I peered over the and into old ugly Miss Hurp's yard. She was new here in this neiborhood and VERY strange! She was cooking on a stick on the grill. Suddenly she spotted me and motioned for me to come on over. She said hello and asked me to throw some away. I threw it away and then returned to her backyard. Her side of the was painted a deep gray where ours was white. She told me to get the box off of the kitchen counter. I walked into the house where the smell of flowers greeted me. It was cozy. I picked up the and looked at the on the table. There were candy wrappers and plastic cups everywhere! I didn't pick them up though. She might be saving that for something.
Once I got back she took the off the grill. Then let me open the . She said she had bought it especialy for me! She didn't even know me! I opened it up and in it was a !! I smiled. "Thank-you. But I don't understand? Why me, and why a ?"
"Because I know you. You are a believer. And so when ever you see something that scares you. Like a spider or snake or dog. Remember that God made the world and he wouldn't make anything that would hurt you on purpose! Remember that as you walk down the sidewalk or go to the zoo." She smiled. "How would you like to come to my next Children of God's group next week? I've invited lots of kids down the steet. Will you go?"
"Well I...I...er yes. Yes please, when is it?" I was so suprised I had trouble finding my voice.
"Every Saturday at 2:30. Please come. We have lemonade and candy and cookies. Then we talk and pray to the Lord. I hope to see you there!" Then she turned and went into the house with the . I stood there staring at my , the . Then I walked around the . So that was what the was! The candy wrapers and cups were for her Children of God group! I was happy that she was nice and a Christian. She helped me a lot. And I am thankful for her.
