hey say there is a small town that got it's name from one thing, The Headless Horseman! That town is called Harbor Island. The reason he is called the Headless Horseman is because one day an explorer that was a horeback rider also, was taking a hike around the woods around the border of Harbor Island. He wasn't paying attention to where he was going and suddenly he ran into a sharp tree branch directly at his neck and that's how he became headless! Not long after, people thought they were seeing things, but they weren't. They were actually seeing a ghost on a horse without a head! Sometimes around Halloween, they said the ghost was carrying a jack-o-lantern in his hand instead of a head! Some people say it wasn't the ghost of an explorer, but a trooper from the Revolutionary War that haunts them. Many people were very frightened. Still no one knows who or what the Headless Horseman really was. But that's just a story!
