nce upon a time, there was a school named Barnard. Everyone there was incredibly nice, until one day when the children got really bad and started to disobey their teachers. They kept on passing notes and talking in math class. They also started to hit each other. One day, the children got so bad that the principal decided to cancel school for the rest of the year.
After that, the school was deserted. One day, the kids in rooms 104, 105, and 205 decided they wanted to go back to school and to learn. So, they called each other and got hold of their teachers. When they got inside the school, something looked suspicious. They realized that the school kept on flashing. Someone had to be controlling the school!! Who was it, they wondered. "Maybe it's a ghost," said one boy. One girl said, "Maybe it's a goblin." Those two kids kept on arguing. The others knew that they had to investigate why the school was flashing, but they didn't want to.
One kids' brother, named Ben, told them that they shouldn't be scared. He was the bravest and the oldest, so they all trusted him. Allison's brother was very mean. He didn't help at all. The kids felt that they couldn't trust him, because he was a showoff. All of the kids were brave, except for Allison's brother. He was very scared. The kids decided to ignore him.
He was all by himself, when suddenly something attacked him. He was GONE! The kids said, "Ooh, now we have another mystery to solve." One of the kids was really disappointed, because now they had to solve two things. They thought that it was going to be incredibly hard to solve both mysteries.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a witch flew across the room. The witch was very ugly, with gray hair, a hat, and only one eye. The witch said that she was going to do something very bad to the children. She said that she was going to erase their future!
The kids replied, "That's three things that we'll have to solve." They were very mad, because they didn't want to have to go through all that work. The kids didn't want to be detectives, because that would mean that they had to look for everything.
The kids decided to go deeper into the school. Then they saw a teacher who said, "No don't go. There is danger ahead." The kids ignored her, and went anyway. The school was very spooky. It was covered in spider webs and there were ghosts everywhere.
One ghost came close. He said, "Put all the clues together if you want to solve the mystery." "I will come with you, and help you find the clues." The ghost then told them that one clue in particular would give the mystery away. He told them that they could find the clue in the principal's office.
The kids decided to split up to solve the mystery. They split up into four groups. The names of the groups were light-catchers, seekers, spies, and wrestlers. Each group had its own mission.
Each group searched all over the school, but they didn't find a thing at all. One group, the spies, got so scared that they ran home. Now there were only three groups. Since there were only three groups left, the kids decided to go with their classes. Then suddenly, one kid found a clue. It was muddy tracks leading to the main office. The kids decided to follow the tracks into the main office. Once inside, they saw that the tracks kept going into the principal's office. Inside the office was the principal, Mrs. Glick. They asked her, "Do you know who set this up?" She said, "I DID IT!!" "I did it, because I wanted you to learn that you should always stay in school. It's safe. I tried to scare you, because I wanted you to figure out that you should always learn. You are now ready to go back to school."
