このお話は、かなしいところから始まります。あるところに１８才になる少年がいました。少年のニックネームはクラッシャー、ひとりっ子です。クラッシャーのお父さんとお母さんは、一日中はたらいていました。そのため、クラッシャーはおじいさんとおばあさんといっしょにいることが多いのでした。ところがある日、お母さんが病気になりました。お母さんはガンにかかってしまったのです。ガンということが分かってから、家族はどうにかお母さんを良くしようと、いろいろなことをためしました。

今日は期末テストの日。最後のテストは数学です。クラッシャーはこれまでのテストで、とても良い点を取っていました。けれども最後の数学は、最悪のできでした。お母さんのことが心配で、集中できなかったのです。

３年後、クラッシャーが２１才になったとき、お母さんはしんぞう発作をおこして、たおれてしまいました。病院に３時間にいて、１０時ごろ、クラッシャーとお母さんは家へもどりました。お父さんは、ふたりのかえりを首を長くしてまっていました。けれどもこの病気のあと、クラッシャーはまたおじいさんとおばあさんの家にもどされてしまいました。

それから３日間、クラッシャーはなきっぱなしでした。クラッシャーはまだ子どもだったのです。けれども大人になって自分のめんどうを見ることができるようになったとき、お母さんはしんでしまいました。その２年後、お父さんも死んでしまいました。交通事故でした。ジープがお父さんのトラックにぶつかったのです。クラッシャーにとっては、かなしみの２年でした。

それからは、いろいろなことが変わりました。クラッシャーは高校を卒業して、大学に通っています。お父さんもお母さんもそんなクラッシャーのことを見ることができません。クラッシャーにはおじいさんとおばあさんしかいません。祝日のときは、いっそうかなしくなりました。

けれども大学で、クラッシャーはある少女と出会いました。たくさんの友だちもできました。クラッシャーのくらしは、それからどんどん、よくなっていったのです。

his story starts with a tragic beginning. There was once a young boy 18 years old. He was an only child. His nickname was Crasher. His mother and father both worked all day. He mostly spent time with his grandparents. He slept there when they found out that his mother had cancer.

When they found out, they tried everything to make her better. The boy was getting ready to take finals in school. The last subject was math. He had gotten all the other subjects perfect so far. Math was last, and the worst. He was so worried about his mother that he didn't get a good grade.

Three years later when the boy was 21, his mother had a heart attack and fainted. They were at the hospital for three hours. They got home around 10:00. His father was waiting for them at home. Crasher was sent back to his grandparents after the heart attack.

For the next three days, all he did was cry. He was an only child, and after he was old enough to take care of himself, his mother died. Then about two years later, his father died. He was in a tractor trailer accident. A Jeep had hit the front end of his truck. It was a couple of tragic years for Crasher.
From now on it was going to be very different. He had now past senior high and gone on to college. It's to bad his mother and father never got to see it. He only had his grandparents to look after. Life was hard for the boy. Holidays were hard also.

In college Crasher met a girl and things started to get better for him in his life. He made a very good friend. How would you have lived through this life?
