「それにね、ブタは空を飛べるかもしれないのよ！」と、メレインはジョーの顔を見ながらさけびました。さけびながら、メレインは顔をしかめましたが、うまくいきませんでした。メレインの顔はいつだって、おかしな顔にはならないのです。

「なにか食べるものないの？」と、ジョーが後ろに手を組んで、わらいながらいいました。まるでだれかが手を結んで、動かないようにと命令したみたいなかっこうです。

「もちろんあるわよ。昨日持ってきたキャンディのふくろがあるでしょ。探してみるわ。ほら、あった！」と、メレインがいいました。メレインはジョーを見ながら、なんでこの子はいつもばかなことを聞くのかしらという顔をしていました。メレインがキャンディのふくろを開けてみると、中にはキラキラ光るシルバーの指輪が入っていました。指輪から顔がうき出てきて、いいました。「ひとつだけ、望みをかなえてあげよう」

長いこと考えて、メレインとジョーは決めました。ジョーのおねがいは、家の水道からいつでもコカコーラが出てくること、でした。けれどもメレインのねがいは、もう２度と地球で戦争が起こらず、平和であることでした。メレインはジョーをせっとくすると、このねがいに決めました。

指輪がチリンといって、ゆかに落ちました。ねがいはかなったのでしょうか？ええ、かなったのです。地球とネバーランドのみんなは、それからずっと幸せにくらしました。

Just as Melanie opened the pack of candy, she found a shining silver ring inside. A face apeared on the ring. It told Joe and Melanie that it could grant one wish of theirs , and just one.

After a long wait, Melanie and Joe had decided what their wish would be, to have Coca Cola running from their house taps forever, well, at least that's what Joe wanted, but Melanie persuaded him to go with her own wish, to have peace and no wars on the earth forever.

With a 'ting' the ring fell on the floor. Was their wish granted? Yes, and the world of Neverland lived happily ever after.
