あるところに、ぼうしの中にすんでいる、ネズミがいました。ネズミはサムといいました。

サムは「あしたはボートきょうそうの日だ！」と、さけびました。

けれどもサムは、ボートをもっていません。今日はいよいよボートレースの日。「ぼうしをボートのかわりにしよう」と、サムはいいました。サムは、ぼうしをもって、レースに出かけました。ベルがなって、スタートです。ところがぼうしには、あながあいていました。サムは、さいごのチーズをとりだすと、あなにつめました。そうして、いっとうしょうをとりました。

「これからレースのときには、チーズをもっていくことにしよう」と、サムはひとりごとをいいました。

here once was a rat who lived in a hat. His name was Sam.

"Tommorro is the boat race" he yelled.

He remembered tht he didn't have a boat. Today was the race. "I could use my hat" he said. He went to the race with his hat. The bell rang and he set off. While he was racing a hole came in his hat. He stuck his last peice of cheese in it and he won first place.

"From now on I am always gonna bring cheese whenever I race" he said.
