ずっとむかし、まだめずらしい種類のトラがいたころのお話です。ジャングルに、キャランという名前のトラがいました。キャランは冒険が大すき！まだ小さな女の子のトラです。キャランはいつも、ジャングルの奥深くで遊んでいました。学校ではいつも“A”ばかりです。

ある日、キャランは海岸の近くまで出かけました。海岸の周りにはハンターたちがたくさんいます。キャランは波のぶつかる音を聞いたり、波が引いていくところを見たいと思ったのです。キャランがもっと小さかったころ、おじいさんがおばあさんと海に行った時のお話を聞かせてくれました。「とてもきれいだったよ」と、おじいさんはいいました。「わしたちはラッキーだったんだ。岩の近くにほら穴があって、そこからはだれにも知られずに、海を見ることができたんだから」

キャランがほら穴の近くまで来ると、波の音でなく、お母さんの呼ぶ声が聞こえてきました。キャランが家に帰ると、お母さんが「もう２度と海のそばに行ってはいけません！」と、いいました。けれども次の日、キャランはお友だちのジョアニーを連れて、また海へ出かけました。今度はきのうより、ちょっぴり近くに来ました。けれども結局、ママに見つかって、しかられてしまいます。ところがある強い雨のふる日、キャランはとうとうほら穴までたどり着くことができました。けれども高い波が来て、キャランはほら穴の中に落ちてしまいました。

「なぜ、ママのいうことを聞かなかったのかしら？」

波はどんどん高くなっていきます。キャランはこわくなってきました。そこへお兄さんトラが助けに来てくれました。お兄さんは木のえだをつかむと、えだにぶらさがって、キャランをつかまえました（お兄さんはたいそうを習っていたのです）。そしてキャランをお家に連れて帰りました。家ではとてもしかられましたが、キャランはもう２度と海岸に近づくことはありませんでした。

long time ago when sibertooth tigers were still around. There lived a sibertooth tiger named Carreln. Carreln was a little adventurous girl tiger. She always played deep in the jungle. She always got A's in school . One day she went near to the beach witch was were all the hunters were. She had always wanted to hear the sound of the waves hitting aganist the rocks and watching them go back. (When she was little her grandpa told her of the day when her grandma went to the ocean. "It was beautiful" he said describing the sounds and sights. "we were lucky to have had the chance to sit in a cave near the rocks without being seen". )

As Carreln got near the cave she heard her mom calling not the waves. So she went home her mom told her to never go near there again! But the next day she took her friend Joany. They got even closer. Yet each day her
mom would call and she would get in troble. One day she went to the cave it was raining very hard. All of a suden the waves went so high she might get trapped in the cave.

"Why didn't I listen to my mom"?

The waves got higher and higher. She got scared and more scared. Until her brother came. He held on to a branch, swung down to get her (good thing he took gymnastics) ,and took her home. She was in so much troble.
She had leaned her lesson.
