ある日、４人の少女がビーチで遊んでいました。太陽はさんさんと照っていて、砂はなめらかで暖かです。

楽しく遊びながら、砂のお城を作ったり、カニをつかまえたりしているうちに、４人は両親に知られないまま、ビーチから遠くにきていました。４人はとつぜん、自分たちが遠くのほらあなにいることに気が付いたのです。

４人はパニックになり、とうとうひとりの少女が「ビーチに帰る道がわからなかったらどうしよう！」と、なき出しました。

４人は帰る道をめぐって、いろいろともめたり、ケンカをしていましたが、その時、潮が満ちていることに気が付きました。それもすごい勢いで水がふえているのです！

とうとう４人はほらあなの中に閉じこめられてしまいました。４人は助けを呼びましたが、だれもきません。雨がはげしく降ってきて、みんな、家に帰ってしまったのです。

その時、ひとりの少女がボートを見つけました。とてもりっぱな形をしています！４人は喜びいさんでボートに乗りこむと、家にもどりました。両親は４人の顔を見て、大喜びです。家族は大きなパーティを開くと、近所の人全員、招待しました。

ne day four girls were playing on the beach and the sun was shining brightly, and the sand was smooth and warm.

As they played happily, making their sand-castles and catching there crabs they strayed further along the beach without their parents knowing. Until all of a sudden they found themselves in a cave far away from where they had been before.

Then they started to panic, "what if we can't find our way back along the beach!", cried one of the girls.

"oh, I'm sure we will.", explained another.

And so it went on, they argued and argued over whether they would get home.
In doing so they were failing to realise that the tide had and still was coming in, and by the looks of it, very fast!

Finally they found themselves stranded in the cave, so they started screaming for help. But nobody came, because they had all gone home as it had also started to rain heavily.
Just at that moment one of the girls noticed a boat, which coinsidently was in great shape!
So they got in and with real joy they sailed back home and their parents were ever so happy to see them, they threw a great party and invited the whole neighbourhood!!
