Far away, in the land of Krimo, there is a girl named
Julie. Now Julie was home babysitting her two little sisters,
Mary and Mandy. They were twins who were 5. Julie herself was
14. They lived in a spooky old house, and it was (on top of that),
Halloween
. Mary and Mandy (also called M&M) were
really freaked out about their parents going to a party on Halloween,
and they have to stay all by themselves (well, Julie was there
of course..). So they made Julie go out and double lock the
,
and they made her check for a
. She finally got
them to calm down when she gave them both a bag of
and
put on a
. But she was a bit freaked out herself,
so she went outside to check the
one last time. The
lock was secure, so she went back to the house, but the door
was locked. She tugged on the handle, but it wouldn't open. She
ran to the window, and M&M were just sitting there watching their
and eating their
. Julie thought rationally, "Maybe
I jus! t locked myself out of the house, no big deal.."
She tapped on the window and told Mary to go unlock the door.
Mandy followed her to the door, but all Julie could hear from
the other side was a shreak from mary. Mandy ran to the window
and said, "Mary says the handle is hot. Very hot. Her hand
is red and the handle is melting." Julie was scared now,
she could swear that she heard footsteps behind her, but she
ignored it. She ran to the door and told Mary to go run her hand
under cold water. She stepped back almost to the
and
closed her eyes, trying to remember those karate lessons. She
ran as fast as she could toward the window and did a jump-kick
smack into it. The glass shattered, but she was inside. She looked
at the handle and noticed that something was definately wrong.
She ran into the kitchen as Mary was drying her hand off with
Mandy sitting on the counter. Julie asked if they were okay,
but they didn't say anything. They were too intent on something
behind her. J! ulie said, "It's a figure of your imagination,
you two." Mary shook her head and said, "
!"
Julie whirled around, and lo and behold, there it was.. a
!
Her eyes went wide as she heard keys rattling in the door. Her
parents were home! She was about to cry out in thankfullness,
but the
looked like it was about to cry. Mary went
over and hugged it and the
said, "My name's Gwestie.
I'm not going to hurt you.. but your parents.." Julie said,
"BOO!" as loud as she could and the
got
scared out of it's wits. It dissapeared and Julie grabbed a glass
of ice-cold water. She splashed it on the handle and it went
back to normal, as she ran back over as fast as she can and got
Mandy and Mary to sit down and make it look like they had been
watching a
. Their parents finally got the door open
as Julie leaned down and told her two sisters, "Nothing
ever happened, okay?" They both shook their head, "Yes".
Julie looked up just in time to see a little happy
p!
utting the window back together. Julie smiled and mouthed the
words, "Thank you". Ever since then they've talked
to each other occasionally. When Mary or Mandy couldn't get to
sleep, Gwestie would come out and tell them it was all okay.
He could do just about everything, and in hide-and-go-seek, he
knew EVERY good hiding spot. They became best friends, that is..
until someone got the bright idea to invent
BUSTERS........
