t was Halloween night. Jordan and his friends knew to stay away from the witch's castle at the end of the block.
They were almost to the castle when one of his friends dared Jordan to go in. Jordan squeezed into the partially opened door and walked down a hallway toward a lighted room ...
He slowly pushed open the door and screamed! There was an old women with a black hat crouched over the stove! She stood up and to Jordan's surprise it was an old lady stirring hot chocolate. She had a kind smile and invited him to sit down and join her. So the two of them enjoyed hot chocolate and popcorn together as they chatted.
Later that night, Jordan joined up with his friends and told them about the kind old lady and how wrong they had been in thinking she was a witch.
