あるところに、ヨンリーという名前の子ネコがいました。あるはれた朝、ヨンリーは、おさんぽに出かけました。「なんてステキなんだろう。いろいろ見て回るのは、たのしいなぁ」と、ヨンリーは、ひとりごとをいました。ヨンリーには、ふしぎなことばかりです！ヨンリーは、大きなキャットツリーに、あいました。

「おぉおおおおい、きみはそ、そ、そ、そこで、な、な、なにをし、し、しているのぉ？」と、ヨンリーは小さな声でききました。

けれどもキャットツリーは、うんともすんとも、こたえません。ヨンリーは「なんか、はなしてよぉ」と、いいました。けれどもキャットツリーは、ひとことも、かえしません。「ぼくたち、そこに上がってもいい？」と、ヨンリーはまた、ききました。「ちょっと、“ぼくたち”ってどういうこと？」と、木の上にいた子ネコがききました。「ぼくときみってことさ。だってきみはひとりぼっちじゃないか」と、ヨンリーはいいました。「きみはだぁれ？」と、ヨンリーはききました。「わたしはシネリア」「とってもステキな名前だね」と、ヨンリーはいいました。「ありがとう」と、シネリアがおれいをいいました。

「シネリア、どうやってそんなに大きな木にのぼったの？」「あぁらら、とってもかんたん！ただジャンプするだけよ」と、シネリアがいいました。「ジャンプだって？」と、ヨンリー。「そうよ、ジャンプよ！」と、シネリアがこたえました。「ぼくはそんなにじょうずに、ジャンプできないよ」と、ヨンリーはいいました。でも、あれ、とべた！！「ぼくのあたらしいお友だち」と、ヨンリーはいいました。ヨンリーは、とてもハッピー。そこでおうたをうたいはじめました。「ぼくは、キャットツリーがすき。ぼくはキャットツリーにのぼるのがすき〜」「キャットツリーが大すきさ。ぜったにわすれないよ！！」
