わたしたち以外に、だれもいません。こわくてしかたがありません。へんな男の人に連れられて、この部屋に閉じこめられてしまいました。このまま何年も閉じこめられたまま？もう終わりだわ！
いったいどうして、こんなことになってしまったの？あの男が紙を落とした時、ニッキがあんな大声でさけばなければよかったのに。あんなふうに「ちょっと、何か落としたわよ！」なんていうかわりに、そばに行って、もう少していねいに話しかければよかったのに。男がわたしたちのことを、このむしあつい部屋に閉じこめたのは、ニッキが男が落とした紙を読んでしまったからでした。そして男に向かって「けいさつを呼ぶわ」と、いってしまったのです。
紙には、ある計画が書かれていました。大きな文字で「銀行計画」と書かれていて、それはもう明らかでした。銀行ごうとうの計画を落とすほどドジなこと、わたしなら決してしないわ。ニッキは紙を見て、さけびました。そして男は、わたしたちを部屋に閉じこめたのです。これだけだって、もうりっぱな犯罪です。
食べ物が１０時間ごとに配られました。ニッキは、男がドアのゆうびん受けのようなものを開けて、そこから食べ物を投げ捨てるところから、次の食べ物が来るまで、きちんと時間を計っていました。もうすでに何日もたっています。ママがどんなに心配しているかしら。わたしたちはもう１５才でしたが、それでもママはずいぶん気にしていると思います。あなたのママだって、そうでしょう？
その時、おまわりさんがドアを開け、飛びこんできました。わたしはホッとしました。ニッキだって、安心したと思います。おまわりさんが「やつらはどこにいる？」と、大声で聞きました。わたしたちは家に帰ってから、起こったことを全部、話しました。ニッキとニッキのママも来て、いろいろ話を聞かれました。わたしたちを閉じこめた男は、前にも犯罪をおかしたことがありました。銀行ごうとうをしようとして、1,365ポンドだけ持って、にげたのでした。わたしたちだけが、それを見ていました。わたしたちはおまわりさんに協力して、ひょうしょうされました。テレビにも出たのです。犯罪にはちっとも良いことはありません。その後には、けいむしょでくらす日々が待っているのですから。
e were alone. We were afraid. The weird guy that had brought us here threw the key away. We would be stuck here for ages. We were doomed.
I was just wondering, why did Nicki have to shout to the guy, when he dropped his papers. All I wanted her to do was walk over to him and tell him polietly, insted of her shouting "OY YOU, YOU DROPPED YOUR PAPERS!" The reason he locked us in the steaming room was that Nicki had started reading his papers. She told him she'd ring the police.
The guy's papers were plans. with great bulging capital letters cryimg out the title "BANK PLAN". It was so obvious. I'd never be able to be as clumsy as to drop a bank robbery plan. Nicki shouted because it was a crime to rob a bank. The guy that locked us here was a criminal.
We got food every 10 hours. Nicki timed from when the guy opened a letter box kind of thing in the door and chucked some fast food through it to when another one came through. It ahd been days since we had been locked up. what would our Mum's say. I know we were 15 but our Mum's would still be concerend. Wouldn't yours?
I was relievd. I'm sure Nicki was as well. The police opened the door and rushed in.
"WHERE ARE THEY!" the police exclaimed. We told them the story when we got home to my house. Nicki and her Mum came round to discuss the mmatter. It had turned out that the guy that locked us up had a criminal record, and had attempted to rob the bank, just running away with a total of ｣1,365. We were the only witnesses of the crime and we were awareded for our co - operation. We managed to get onto tv. So did the criminals, but that was nothing for them to be pleased about. They had a life in jail ahead of them.
