ある日、小さな鳥が大きな鳥にいいました。「大きくなったら、君みたいになりたいなぁ」大きな鳥はそれを聞いて、よろこびました。けれども大きな鳥はかしこかったので、こう答えました。「ぼくみたいになりたいなんて、とてもうれしいよ。でもね、“だれかみたいになりたい”なんて思うのはいけないな。自分らしくなるのが、１番なんだ。そうしたら世界はもっと幸せになるんだよ」

a little bird told a big bird that when I grow up I want to become
like you. The big bird was happy to know that the little bird
wanted to become like him. But he was a wise bird and said, "It
is nice that you want to become like me, but remember that everyone
should try to be like themselves and not like others. The world
would be a much happier place then."
