昔、サークルウォーターという町に、陰気な少女が住んでいました。少女は１０才で、孤児でした。家族はひとりもおらず、少女の世話をする人はだれもいません。少女は貧しかったのですが、まほうを使うことができました。
お父さんのクリントンが亡くなった後、少女は家を出ていき、５年間、戻ってきませんでした。その時、少女は５才でした。少女は卑しい家に住み、大切な時までまほうの力は使わないと決めました。少女はボロボロのベッドに寝ていました。
「ここに住むわ。ずっとフランという名前でいるためにも！」こうして５年が過ぎました。
多くの人々が卑しい家はどこにあって、どんな人が住んでいるのだろうと、うわさをしていました。フランは決してまほうの力を使いませんでした。ある年、ききんがサークルウォーターをおそいました。フランはターキーを取り出すと、それを食べました。
「これをどうしよう？」と、フランは自分自身にたずねました。「自分だけのために取っておくべきかしら、それともみんなと分けた方がいいのかしら？」
フランは初めてサークルウォーターに足を踏み入れました。たくさんの子どもたちが大声を上げました。人々はひそひそと言い合いました。
「あのみにくい少女はだれだろう？」
フランは悲しさでいっぱいになりました。「そう、わたしはみにくいに違いないわ」と、フランは思いました。
何もしていなかったことが、フランをみにくくしていたのです。フランは火を取り出しました。そしてゆっくりと歌い出しました。「わたしの名前はフラン。この人々をいやしてあげて！」突然、明るい光が現われました。光が行ってしまうと、人々の目の前には世界中で最も美しい少女が立っていました。
「あなたはだれ？」と、人々はたずねました。
「わたしはサークルウォーターの外にある卑しい家に住むみにくい少女です」と、フランは答えました。人々はフランを見つめました。絹のような美しい黒髪、アーモンドシェイプのきれいな目、歌うような愛らしい声。。。
「わたしは自分以外の人に何もしなかった。。。だからわたしはみにくかったのです」と、フランは続けました。「今、わたしは命を救いました」
here was once a sombre girl who lived in a town called Circle Water. She was a 10 year old orphan with no family, no one to take care of her. But she was a witch and she was poor anyways.
After the funeral of her father Clinton, she never went back for 5 years. She was 5. She zapped a contemptible house. She decided to save her powers for when it counted. She zapped up a little tattered bed.
"I'll live here or else my name isn't Fran!"
And so it was. For five long years.
Many people wondered about where and who lived in the contemptible house. Fran never used her magic untill it reaaly counted. A famine was being cast over Circle Water! She zapped up a turkey and ate.
"Shall I keep all this?"she asked herself."or shall I keep this to myself, or shall I share?"
She walked into Circle Water for the 1st time TCH was on fire! Many kids screamed. People whispered
"Who is that ugly,bent girl?"
She filled with sadness."It must be true."she thought.
Having done nothing for herself it caused her to be ugly. She zapped the fire out. She sang slowly. "My name is Fran heal this clan!" Instantly a bright light was seen. When the light went away, they saw the most beautiful girl in the whole world!
"Who are you?"they asked.
"I'm the ugly, bent girl who lives in the contemptible home outside Circle Water!" They looked at her features. Her lovely silky,black hair, her pretty almond eyes, her
sing-song voice..."I have done nothing for no one but myself,so i've been...ugly." she said."Now I've saved a life..."
