"The Bookmark"

T
he night before my birthday, before I went to bed, I was reading in a book called, "Dreams Are Real." It was the best book I have ever read!

Well, I was getting tired so I stuck my old ragged bookmark in the right spot. I put it on my bedside stand, turned off my lamp and went to sleep.

In my dream, I was in a very colorful, bright, beautiful place. It was wonderful! I was walking along, and all of a sudden, I saw a bookmark in the middle of the road. I picked it up, and it said,

"Go 3 steps forward."

I went three steps forward and there was another bookmark. I picked it up, and it said,

"Do a backflip...see what happens."

I did one of my backflips, and instead of landing on solid ground, I started falling. I was getting colder, no, hotter, no wait, colder! Finally I landed on solid gound, and there was another bookmark. It said,

"Walk a little further..."

I did, and there was one last bookmark. I picked it up, and it said,

"Wake Up Now."

Sure enough, I woke up. I yawned, stretched, and got up. My parents greeted me and asked me to open this one present.

"Is it from you guys?" I asked.

"No," my mom replied, "We found it out on the front step this morning. I wonder who it could be from?"

I opened it, and there inside was a bookmark. I turned it over and it said,

"Happy Birthday."
