３００１２年５月２日 -- わたしはおりの中にすわって、飼い主のドクター・ウィッツを見ていました。ドクター・ウィッツはビーカーの中の薬品を調合したり、不思議な本の研究をしています。わたしは研究室のネズミです。わたしはすわったまま、一日中ドクターが働いているのを見ていました。ドクター・ウィッツはここのところ、ずいぶんと働いています。わたしはドクターの次の実験は何かしらと、思っていました。
３００１２年５月４日 -- 昨夜で、わたしの人生は一変してしまいました。昨日の夜、ドクター・ウィッツがわたしに化学薬品を与えました。研究用のネズミとして、わたしは実験には協力的です。ほとんどあっという間に、わたしは変わり始めました。わたしの白い毛は明るい黄色になって、黒い色のトラのようなたて模様がからだ全体にできました。わたしはもう、研究室のネズミではなくなっていました。それなら、わたしはいったい、何になったのでしょう。
３００１２年３月５日 -- ドクター・ウィッツが朝、わたしを調べに来ました。わたしはドクターの言うことを理解することができました。わたしはドクターに返事をしようとしました。ところが、口から出てきた言葉は、「ショッッック、ラッット！」でした。いったい何が起こったのでしょう。ドクター・ウィッツは何が起きたのか、分かっていました。ドクターは、わたしがショック・ラットと呼ばれる新種のネズミに変化したんだと、説明してくれました。科学者たちは、わたしのような新種のネズミを発見していました。ドクター・ウィッツは、わたしを「ショック・ラット」に変える化学実験を行ったのでした。ドクターによると、わたしはエレクトリックパワーを持っていて、他の変形ネズミと戦ったり、競争したりするときに使えるそうです。そしてわたしが言えるのは、「ショックラット」という自分の名前だけ。わたしはこうふんしてきました。次には何が起きるのかしら、と思いました。
３００１２年３月８日 -- ドクター・ウィッツが、そろそろトレーニングを始めなくてはと言いました。もうすぐ大きなお祭りがやってきて、科学者たちはそこでネズミたちを見せるのです。競争に勝つために、わたしはドクターからトレーニングを受けて、パワーを正しく使えるようにならなくてはなりません。トレーニングはもうすぐスタートします。わたしはとてもこうふんしていました。
３００１２年３月１０日 -- 今日がトレーニングの初日です。わたしはエレクトリックパワーをじょうずに使えるようになりました。それからすばやく動けるようにもなりました。わたしは足の下にエレクトリックボールがあって、それがエレクトリックパワーを強化することも、学びました。わたしがすぐにトレーニングをマスターしたので、ドクターもわたしもハッピーでした。けれども、もっとたくさんのトレーニングが待っています。
３００１２年６月１日 -- いよいよ明日はお祭りの日です。うまくできるといいな。待ち切れない気持ちです。
３００１２年６月２日 -- わたしはとってもハッピーです！！今日は最高の日でした。わたしは美人ネズミコンテストとかけっこで優勝しました。わたしはどの競技も大好きでした。最終試合でわたしは一等賞をとりました。わたしは相手のネズミを全部負かして、金のトロフィーをもらいました。試合には、ウォーター・ラット、葉っぱネズミ、ファイアー・ネズミが出ていました。わたしはエレクトリック・ネズミのショック・ラットです。
わたしの名前とドクター・ウィッツの名前が金のトロフィーに刻まれました。わたしはうれしくてたまりません。ショック・ラットになったことは、今までで一番ステキなことでした。
ay 2, 30012 - I sit in my cage, watching my owner, Dr.Whitz, brewing chemicals in beakers and studying strange books. I'm a lab rat. I sit here, and watch him work all day. He's been working really hard lately. I wonder what his next experiment is.
May 4, 30012 - Last night, my whole life changed. Dr.Whitz fed me some chemicals. As a lab rat, I just went along with what was expected of me. Almost instantly, I started to change. My white fur changed to a bright yellow, and black tiger stripes zipped all over my entire body. I was no longer a lab rat...but then, what was I?
May 5, 30012 - Dr.Whitz came to check on me in the morning. I could understand him! I tried to speak back. But the only words that came out were, "Shoock,raat!" What was happening? Dr.Whitz knew what had happened. He told me that I had been transformed into a new species of rat, called a Shockrat. Scientists have been discovering new species like me. Dr.Whitz tried a chemical experiment that was supposed to turn me into, "Shockrat". Dr.Whitz said I had electrical powers that I would use to battle and compete against other special formed rats. And the only word I could say was my name. Shockrat. I was exicited. I just wondered what was going to happen next.
May 8, 30012 - Dr.Whitz said that we should begin, "training." There was a big festival coming up, where scientits would go to show off their rats. In order to compete, Dr.Whitz was going to train me to use my special powers properly. We would start the training soon. again, I was really excited!!
May 10, 30012 - Today was my first day of training. I could now use electric shocks really well. And I could move real swiftly. Also, I learned that I had electrial balls under my feet that would allow me a good surge of electrical power. We were both happy that I had learned so quickly. But, more training would be needed.....
June 1, 30012 - Tomarrow is the big day. I hope I do well. I can't wait!
June 2, 30012 - I am soo happy! Today was great. I won the Cutest Rat Award, and The Fastest Rat Award. I loved everything. And in the final competition, I WON FIRST PRIZE! I got a gold trophy for defeating other rats in battles. There were water rats, leafy rats, fire rats, and me - the electrical rat, Shockrat.
My name and Dr.Whitz's name were engraved on a gold trophy. I am so pleased. I think being a Shockrat is the best thing that ever happened to me.!
